About Adventist Schools Australia
Welcome to Adventist Education
Since the early 1870’s Adventist Education has been an integral part of the ministry of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church. Today Adventist education is the largest Protestant schooling system in the world with over 8500 institutions in over 100 countries educating nearly 2 million students each year. In Australia, our 48 schools are providing quality, affordable, Christian education to just under 16000 students.
Our Purpose

Our Purpose: to reveal Jesus

Adventist Education exists because we believe in the profound love of Jesus and the hope, peace and joy that comes from knowing Him, and living with Him and for Him. We want to share this good news in our early learning centres and school communities.

Our Vision

Our Vision: to be a thriving Christ-centred Learning Community

Our desire is to build a nurturing, inclusive school community so that each Adventist school will be a lighthouse in their community, shining for Jesus, serving with care and excellence. Every level of our organisation working in harmony with a commitment to build the culture and services to provide quality Christian education until Jesus returns.

Our Mission

Our Mission: to enable every student to flourish

We want to impact every child, every family for Christ. We want to inspire and care holistically for each person – equipping them with the beliefs, values, and skills to live a life of purpose, hope, joy, and peace as a global citizen for Christ.

Our Adventist Identity

Every Adventist school is unique by virtue of its location and circumstance, yet all Adventist schools share distinctive qualities. These qualities create an atmosphere and ethos which can be experienced and observed. Our ‘Adventist Identity’ is used to describe these distinctive qualities.

Our identity is Christ-centred, Bible-based and underpinned by the fundamental beliefs and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

 Every Adventist school:

  • is clear and proud of its heritage within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • ensures that Adventist Christian beliefs are embedded in every aspect of school life and culture.
  • provides regular opportunities for students and their families to accept Christ as their personal Saviour.
  • provide opportunities for our students to develop and embed life-skills and values through service.
Our Philosophy

The Seventh-day Adventist philosophy of education is Christ-centred. We believe that Jesus is the ultimate example of ‘love in action’ and He wants us to do likewise. As such, Adventist Education is a vital ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and is committed to sharing God’s life-transforming love.

We believe that Jesus relates to us on a personal level, presenting His character as the ultimate example. His love and grace is the foundation of our relationship with Him. Therefore, Adventist Education seeks to reveal Jesus and nurture all “…to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8 CSB).

Adventist Education strives to be transformative. It seeks to impart more than academic knowledge through the balanced development of the whole person: spiritually, academically, socially and physically. It seeks to develop a life of faith in God and a respect for the dignity of all people. It nurtures thinkers rather than mere reflectors of others’ thoughts (White, E. Education 1903). It promotes loving service rather than selfish ambition; and it embraces all that is true, good, and beautiful.

Our schools and early learning centres are thriving, nurturing, learning communities where Jesus is central, and where our students can become all that God intends them to be.

Educating for Eternity

About the Seventh-day Adventist Church

Adventist Schools in Australia are part of the worldwide Adventist education system with schools in over 100 countries, employing over 84,000 teachers and educating over 2 million students. This education system is part of the Global Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Seventh-day Adventists are renown for our health message and believe in taking care of our world, and know that life is more than just surviving. There is so much more.

We believe life can be full and wonderful, not because life becomes magically easier when you decide to become a child of God, but because Jesus is at the centre of all that you are and all you do.

Love in action: God loves the world and He wants us to do the same. Seventh-day Adventists are committed to sharing God’s life-transforming love. We want to help people get to know God, grow spiritually and serve others in practical and effective ways.

Because every human is miraculously crafted by God, we have been created by a maker who wants us to live life to the full. On top of that, God sent His Son to demonstrate true love, forgiveness, grace and hope. Through our relationship with Jesus Christ, this defines every facet of who Adventists are.
